ALTA (Atlanta Lawn Tennis Association)

We have been working with the Atlanta Lawn Tennis Association (ALTA), one of the largest tennis and pickleball leagues in the United States, to develop and maintain their league management platform.

The system supports tens of thousands of players and coordinators participating in seasonal tennis and pickleball leagues across the Atlanta metropolitan area.

The platform has been continuously developed and maintained for many years as the league and its programs have grown.

Overview

The ALTA platform is a web-based system used to manage league operations, team coordination, scheduling, and match reporting. It includes both public areas and secure member-only portals used by players, team captains, and league administrators.

The platform plays a central role in organizing league activities, publishing schedules, tracking standings, and managing the operational rules of multiple tennis and pickleball leagues.

Teams are organized into divisions and ranking flights, allowing the system to automatically maintain standings and league progression throughout the season.

Member Portal

The member portal provides ALTA players with access to the information they need throughout the season, including:

• team rosters
• match schedules
• match results
• division standings
• team availability
• league announcements and updates

This portal allows thousands of members to track their teams and participate in league activities from any device.

Management Portal

The management portal provides administrative tools used by ALTA staff and league coordinators to manage league operations.

Key capabilities include:

• managing league divisions and teams
• scheduling matches across multiple leagues
• maintaining league rules and policies
• publishing events and announcements
• generating operational and statistical reports

These tools support the complex operational structure required to run a large regional sports league.

Technical Challenges

The platform has evolved over many years and supports a large and active user base. Development work often involves enhancing the system while it remains fully operational for thousands of users.

One of the challenges of the project is implementing and maintaining the complex rules that govern different leagues, divisions, and scheduling scenarios while ensuring the system remains reliable and easy to use.
